As per your recent letter from CityFibre, Zybre is likely to be unable to continue providing your broadband service and Octaplus are unable to take over any connections in Southend on Sea or Leigh on Sea. As a CityFibre partner, we’re here to help and we’ll make the switch as easy as possible.

CityFibre informed us of the current situation, and we are happy to undertake remote activations for Zybre/Air Broadband customers. Just place your order on our website, and we’ll do the rest. We know broadband is essential, so we’ll do all we can to get you up and running quickly, and we’ll be in touch with updates as soon as we have them.

What's next?

If you’ve already placed your order with us, we’re working to get you connected. Here are the answers to a few questions you may have:

When will my current connection stop working?
We have been told that your current connection will likely be switched off on Monday 22nd May, so if you place an order we’ll do all we can to connect you as soon as possible, but you will likely have some time without a service.

Do I need an engineer visit?
No, you shouldn’t need an engineer visit, we will activate your service remotely.

Can I use my own router?
Yes, you should be able to use your own router on our network, but no sooner than your activation date. if you would like to use your own router, please email service@giganet.uk and we will let you know your PPPoE details. Further information can be found here.

When will my Giganet service go live?
Once you order you’ll receive an email to let you know your activation date, which will be as soon as possible, and routers will be sent out before this. Please ignore any dates stated when placing your order on our website.

What else do I need to do?
CityFibre has informed us that in some cases, some extra steps will need to be completed before your broadband will work. These are below:

  • Turn off your ONT – the black box on the wall (either at the plug socket or using power switch on the unit)
  • Unplug and disconnect your router from your previous provider
  • Connect your Giganet provided router to the power and the ethernet cable from the ONT
  • Turn on your ONT and your new router
