FAQs

Do I need to have a landline?

The simple answer is no and the reason for this is that full fibre (or FTTP) uses a completely separate infrastructure to the traditional copper lines that FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) and phone lines run on. Full fibre is future-proofed for years to come and far superior to FTTC broadband services.

If you want to keep your traditional landline (where your phone plugs into the wall) you can. You will need to run this alongside our broadband service as this is not a product we offer.

Alternatively, Giganet will soon be able to provide a VoIP home phone service which runs over your new broadband, transfer your existing number, and still allow you to cancel the old copper line completely. We have paused our current phone packages and are getting ready to launch some brand new ones.  View our home phone page here.
