All Yacht Haven sites can now operate as one

Established in Lymington in 1972, Yacht Havens Group has become one of the leading marina owners, operators and developers in the UK.

Yacht Havens had extremely slow ADSL or FTTC broadband across each of their UK sites. This was proving to be nowhere near enough for their own internal staff usage. But as they provide outdoor Wi-Fi to the berth holders and visiting boats, their customers were also experiencing poor service. There was no prospect of improved broadband connectivity being available at many of these locations due to the rural location of the Yacht Havens.

To solve this problem, Giganet provided 100Mb/s on 1Gb bearer ELITE (fibre leased lines) as well as managed Juniper routers at each location with a MPLS Managed PWAN to seamlessly connect all the Yacht Havens sites.

For redundancy, we also provided our managed SuperBOLT/Legacy (FTTC/ADSL2+) failover at each site with different carrier, data centre, and technology. This ensures that Yacht Havens will never be without internet connectivity, even if their ELITE Leased Lines were to fail. To further ensure private, secure communications, we set up an IPSec breakout connection to their Yacht Havens site in the Netherlands with a private interconnect to the Bunker – their Data Centre colocation site for core services.

With a cloud phone system hosted on Giganet's core network

Through our private cloud, a ShoreTel phone system was deployed across each Yacht Haven site, with the phone system hosted directly within Giganet’s core network.

Giganet then ensured that VoIP is prioritised with QoS controls across the MPLS PWAN. As part of the MPLS PWAN dual-data centre, high availability Meraki MX100 Security Appliances with IPS, Anti-malware and Content Filtering capabilities provide the Internet breakout.

The entire system and network is proactively monitored and supported 24x7x365 by Giganet engineers.
