Solent Stevedores operates from the Port of Southampton in the areas of stevedoring, storage and rehandling of bulk/general cargoes.
Solent Stevedores got in touch in 2009 because they were looking to improve their connectivity at two sites in Hampshire and Gloucestershire. Plus they wanted to purchase a new phone system for these sites. They previously had ordinary ADSL broadband connections at these sites which we upgraded to Leased Lines to solve their connectivity issues. It also allowed them to save money by retiring their ISDN lines and implement SIP to carry their phone calls over the internet.
Giganet replaced their ageing BT phone system with a feature-rich Splicecom solution and its in-house engineers conducted full training so that all users were able to use the handsets to their full potential.
The new system means that Solent Stevedores has a future-proof system, running on the latest technology and in a much more resilient set-up. Over a decade after their original installation, Solent Stevedores continue to be a happy customer. We have since provided extra Leased lines to all their additional sites, to guarantee a seamless connection between their head office in Dursley, two sites in Southampton Docks and one in London Gateway Terminal, Essex.
