How is Giganet’s home phone different from my old phone line?

You keep your existing home phone number, but we whisk it away into the internet so you don’t need your old copper phone line any more. This is called VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and it allows you to keep your landline number and telephone handset, but instead of connecting it to the socket in the wall, you connect it to your router. People call you in the same way, so you won’t lose touch with anybody.

Please note, we have recently paused our home phone offering. We’re working hard behind the scenes on a brand new set of phone options, that will be launching soon. Once they’re available, if you choose one of our home phone packages, you can keep your existing telephone handsets and they should work exactly as they did before.

You can choose to keep your existing number too, click here to find out more.

Please note, that if your broadband goes down then so does your phone line.
