Connected Solent, a new business conference initiative launched at the INEOS TEAM UK in Portsmouth earlier this month, saw a great turnout of business owners and leaders from the Solent region. The event had secured strong support from the local business community and established professionals who serve them. Geared towards the leaders of medium-sized businesses, the initiative was designed to appeal to firms who are ambitious for growth and who want to build their contacts of like-minded business directors, leaders and influencers.
The event featured Nick Hollis, a triathlon coach, high altitude mountaineer and public speaker, as its headline speaker. In May 2019, Nick conquered Mount Everest and overcame snow blindness, risk of permanent brain damage and several near-death experiences to become one of only 40 Britons in the world to complete the ‘Seven Summits’ of the world. The ‘Seven Summits’ celebrates the extraordinary achievement of climbing the highest mountains on each of world’s continents.
Andrew Skipsey, Managing Director of M12 Solutions and Giganet says, “We have seen strong enthusiasm here in Portsmouth for great networking and useful content from the well-supported LinkedIn Local events, which are geared more towards smaller businesses. What we have done is to go a few steps further via our own investment and bring together a superb set of sponsors and speakers who provided quality information to genuinely help medium-sized businesses grow and prosper.”
The conference also included sessions and live demos from authors, sales experts, social media gurus and local organisations including Shaping Portsmouth. It offered local business leaders valuable industry knowledge, inspiration, online and offline networking opportunities and tips on successful growth. The afternoon took place at the top floor Flight Deck of the INEOS TEAM UK HQ on the Old Portsmouth waterfront and guests enjoyed stunning panoramic views across the region.
“This event has been in the planning stages for over a year and now that the CityFibre network is live, we were excited to bring together the key business leaders of the Solent to receive useful briefings and quality business networking. All set within an iconic Portsmouth landmark, which is possibly the best presentation environment in the area. This event was a huge success and we enjoyed speaking with other professionals from our local region.” concludes Andrew.
The Connected mini-conference event was put together by Giganet, the Portsmouth-based Internet Service Provider who secured support from CityFibre, NatWest, Shaping Portsmouth, Evolve and more. Giganet are also one of the launch partners for CityFibre’s transformational full fibre investment across Portsmouth.
Giganet is the connectivity arm of M12 Solutions, a well-established, award-winning business telecoms company who have a strong reputation for providing superb value telecoms solutions across the region.
